Panasonic Viera, problems with the installation of Dish Network channels?

I just got a 32 "Panasonic Viera, I installed as he said. But I can not get my satellite TV to work. I have not got a box or anything, just the cable coming from my wall. It worked fine with my old TV only plug, but when I did in my new TV does not work. I have a Linksys modem connected to the plant. My problem is that I just got Direct TV and access demand to the cable box requires an Internet connection. I have a Netgear print server told me to work to get Internet access to television. Does this sound right. Can I connect these two elements and obtain Internet down?
