direct tv questions
Direct TV question…

My sister had direct tv she moved and left her dish. I moved into her old place and my mother has 4 direct tv receivers in her house. She has offered to give me one so I dont have the monthly bill coming in. My question is will I be able to purchase PPV movies and events with that receiver even though its on a different dish? I know for sure I can watch regular tv.

Sure, the receiver doesn’t know where it is physically. As long as the dish antenna is aimed to the proper satellites and the account for that receiver is paid in full, it should work. You will probably need a phone line attached to the receiver for purchase PPV.

Remember, the satellites use spot beams that cover geographic areas for local stations. So, if you are not in the same city/state as you mom, the locals may not work. But all the national stuff should be OK.

I hope this helps. Please return and select a Best Answer from all of those submitted.

if I change my HD DVR (basement) to another room (double bed) is the direct TV HD DVR work?

I put my TV in my bedroom I put the DVR is now in the cellar master of my bed, going to work or Direct TV technitian me for change, do not know if child is going to be the same coaxial

Your question is misspelled it is difficult to say what he is saying. However, about moving a HD receiver or HD DVR at all, you have two coaxial lines where want is the DVR up if you have a SWM (single wire micro) tyle LNB on your dish. If you still use the B-band converters on the back of your HD DVR, so you do not have a SWM setup and you need to call Directv. If you do not have B band converters, which means that you have a waste management system solid, then things can go smoothly.
