Why is my Direct TV box will not let me select 1080p?
I have a new Direct TV HD DVR box that can connect to a TV with 1080p HDMI cable. However, every time I go into the Direct TV menu to select a resolution of 1080p, it says my TV is not "capable" of 1080p resolution. I know that my TV is a 1080p TV (Model: Mitsubishi WD-62 627), as written in my book and everywhere I check online. Does anyone know why I did not I can check the box that says 1080p on the TV menu online? I ordered a "On-Demand" 1080p movie today to see if I could play and he did, but was the highest resolution I can not see 1080i and 1080p. Oh, and why the front of the Direct TV box shows only 1080i and 1080p resolution, no? My TV also shows 1080i on the HDMI input for connecting the back of the TV. Thanks!
1080p is not widespread. DirecTV On Demand is the only way to play anything 1080p and even that is limited. When the HD DVR have been manufactured, which are not compatible with 1080p, do not shed light on the front of the present resolution. The software updates and changes have changed the manufacturing specifications broadcasting original … So, in summary, although the front says 1080i, if the Defense Department program is 1080p and 1080p TV is on, DirecTV will play in 1080p. The option is grayed in the menu since it is automatically detected by the receiver itself. It will be the next software update when people start broadcasting in 1080p, so far, most are not due to the difference in costs and the fact that the eye can not tell the difference between the two. I can not answer the last question on the TV, I'm just an expert DirecTV. : D
